The Judge Made Me Have a Very Bad Week

If you read The Source of All Knowledge, you know one of the things I value most is reading the comics in the daily newspaper. This is the last thing I do at night before I go to sleep. The best of the day is saved for last. “Ahhhh!” I sigh happily. “It is time for the comics!”

Judge Parker is one of my favorites. But he sorely tested my patience this week. He featured “the thing whose name cannot be spoken.”

I have a horrible phobia. And this comic featured my phobia! I am shaking just telling you about this. Every day this week, my husband had to search the comics for the offending item and cut it out and bury it in the garbage before I could touch the newspaper. Oh! Shiver! Shake!

I do not want to be cured! I do not want to think about this. I do not want to consider it.

I just want to be left alone and not bothered by the suggestion that any such thing exists. Leave me alone!!

Do you have a phobia? Do you agree that any cure is out of the question? Do you want to be just left alone and blot it out of your mind, best you can?

Judge Parker: You are a traitor! Why did you bring such a thing into our relationship?!

My heart is racing and I am sweating now. And it is not because I love you, Judge.
